Description

Easy chicken that seems like you’ve slaved over it. Kids love it and ask for it often

Ingredients

  • 6 pieces Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breasts
  • ¼ cups Lemon Juice
  • Fresh Ground Pepper
  • 3 dashes Your Favorite Seasoning I Use What Ever Strikes Me Or Is Closest At The Moment I Really Like Cavender's All Purpose Greek Seasoning.
  • ¼ cups Melted Butter
  • ¼ cups Your Favorite Steak Sauce (I Use HP Brand Sauce It Is An English Sauce)
  • 2 Tablespoons Capers In Brine - More Or Less To Taste

Preparation

Place the chicken breasts in slow cooker and stab each a few times with a knife. Pour lemon juice over the top, then sprinkle on the fresh ground pepper and your favorite seasoning mixture or Cavender’s All Purpose Greek Seasoning if you have it.

In a separate bowl melt the butter and mix in the steak sauce and the capers. (You want to include some of the caper brine – it smells funny but adds great flavor). Pour this over the chicken breasts and cook for 4-6 hours on low.

Serve over rice, egg noodles or our family’s favorite choice mashed potatoes.

Super easy recipe with great results. I used 3 frozen chicken breasts (the gigantic sized ones) instead of fresh. I also added a bit more caper juice…just used up what was left in my bottle.

I really liked the flavor, but wish the ‘gravy’ would have been a little thicker. I also found it to be just a tad salty, but that could be due to the extra caper juice I used. Thinking of subbing some chix broth for part of the melted butter next time. There definitely will be a next time for this recipe!
