Description

The best of both worlds, sloppy Joes and tater tots, join together in this kid-pleasing casserole.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground Beef
  • ½  Onion, Diced
  • ½  Red Bell Pepper, Diced
  • ½  Green Bell Pepper, Diced
  • 3 cloves Garlic, Minced
  • 1 cup Ketchup
  • 1 Tablespoon Yellow Mustard
  • 1 Tablespoon Brown Sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons Chili Powder
  • ¾ cups Cheddar Cheese, Shredded
  • 1 bag (32 Oz. Size) Tater Tots

Preparation

Preheat oven to 375ºF.

Cook together the ground beef, onion, bell peppers, and garlic. Once browned, drain the fat and return ground beef to the pan.

With the burner on medium-low, add the ketchup, mustard, brown sugar, and chili powder to the ground beef. Cook for 5 minutes.

Put the sloppy Joe mixture into an 8×8 pan. Layer on the shredded cheese and top with the tater tots. Bake in the oven for 20 to 25 minutes or until the tater tots are golden brown.

Enjoy!

Yum! We loved the wonderful blend of flavors and spices. Easy and tasty. I only used a little more than half a bag of tater tots, as we preferred more meat to tot ratio. I also added approx. 1/4 cup of water to the meat mixture for simmering. Will absolutely add to my meal rotation.
