Description

I typically have all ingredients in the house with the exception of the shrimp, and it’s very easy to make. It has excellent flavor and is great served over pasta!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Raw Shrimp, Peeled And Deveined
  • 1 teaspoon Crushed Red Pepper Flakes
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 pound Pasta (I Suggest Spaghetti)
  • 3 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • ½ bulbs Onion, Chopped Finely
  • 14-½ ounces, weight Can Diced Tomatoes
  • 8 ounces, weight Can Tomato Sauce (I Used Garlic/oregano/basil Flavored)
  • 1 cup White Wine
  • 3 cloves Garlic, Minced
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Oregano
  • 1 Tablespoon Fresh Basil, Chopped
  • 1 Tablespoon Fresh Parsley, Chopped

Preparation

Take your peeled and deveined raw shrimp and toss them with the red pepper flakes and the salt to coat. Heat a large skillet with the olive oil over medium-high heat and put in the seasoned shrimp. In the meantime, get your pasta going. Sautee shrimp for approximately 3 minutes or until the shrimp is cooked through and pink. Remove the shrimp from the pan and set aside on a plate.

To the pan, add the onion and sauté for approximately 5 minutes or until softened. Add your cans of tomato, wine, garlic and oregano and cook the mixture over medium heat until sauce is heated through and has reduced a bit, about 10 minutes. Add your shrimp back to the sauce along with the fresh basil and parsley and cook for another 2 minutes to bring the shrimp back up to temperature.

By now, your pasta is done. Remove shrimp from heat and serve Shrimp Fra Diavolo over pasta. Enjoy!
