My Great Aunt Mary’s shrimp casserole. Delicious, elegant and creamy!
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Grease a 3 quart casserole dish.
Combine peppers, celery, onion and water and cook in a small saucepan over medium heat until veggies are tender. Drain and set aside in a large bowl.
Make the cheese sauce: Melt the butter, then stir in the flour until smooth. Gradually add the cream/half-and-half and cook until the mixture thickens, stirring constantly. Add cheese, pimentos, salt and pepper. Add the sauce, crab and shrimp to the veggies and mix. Put in a 3 quart casserole dish. Sprinkle with cracker crumbs and bake for 20 minutes.
