Description

Just throw all the ingredients in a slow cooker and walk away. This spicy beef makes a great filling for burritos or tacos.

Ingredients

  • 5 pounds Chuck Roast
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • ½ teaspoons Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Chili Powder
  • ¼ teaspoons Cayenne Pepper
  • 3 cloves Garlic, Minced
  • 1 whole Onion, Chopped
  • 1 can Diced Green Chiles (4 Oz)
  • 1 jar Taco Sauce (8 Oz.)

Preparation

Place all ingredients in a slow cooker. Cook on high for 6-8 hours, or on low for 10-12 hours. Shred meat with a fork before serving.

I LOVE this recipe. The beef was great for burritos, and even better the next day in a quesadilla! I used a smaller roast than suggested (b/c I was cooking for 2) but still used the full amounts of seasonings b/c I like my food pretty spicy!

Tried this recipe, but used green taco sauce instead of regular taco sauce. I was afraid it would be to vinegary. It was very good. Kept me from having to cook for a couple of nights too. Wihich is always a plus.
