Description

A favorite chicken dish in Hawaii. This is super easy, super fast and super tasty. Serve with white rice (medium-grain). I store the sauce and chicken separately so the chicken won’t get too salty. You can use the sauce on your rice and veggies.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Shoyu (soy Sauce)
  • ½ cups Mirin (Japanese Sweet Rice Wine)
  • ½ cups Water
  • 2 teaspoons Sesame Seed Oil
  • 3 cloves Crushed Garlic
  • 1-½ teaspoon Fresh Grated Ginger (or Sub 1/2 Teaspoon Powdered For The 1 1/2 Teaspoons Fresh)
  • 10 pieces Boneless Chicken Thighs

Preparation

1. Put all of the ingredients except chicken into a large pot and bring to a boil.
2. Add chicken to the sauce.
3. Cook on medium heat for 10 minutes.
4. Turn chicken thighs over and cook for another 5 minutes.
5. Turn stove off and let the chicken sit for 10 minutes.
6. Serve with white rice.
