Description

Classic Alfredo with the delicious addition of thick cut applewood smoked bacon!

Ingredients

  • 5 slices Thick Cut Bacon, Diced Into Medium Size Pieces
  • 8 ounces, weight Penne
  • 4 Tablespoons Butter
  • 1 clove Garlic, Minced
  • 1-½ cup Half-and-half
  • ¾ cups Grated Parmesan Cheese
  • Salt And Pepper, to taste

Preparation

In a fry pan, cook your bacon until chewy (or longer if you like your bacon crunchy) and then drain on a paper towel-lined plate. Set aside.

Fill a large pot with water and bring to a boil, add a touch of olive oil and plenty of salt, then dump in your pasta.

While your pasta is cooking, melt the butter and garlic in a deep fry pan until butter is melted all the way. Pour your half-and-half into the pan and whisk to combine it with the butter. Bring the mixture to a simmer and then sprinkle in your Parmesan cheese and whisk to melt it into the sauce. Season with salt and pepper to your liking, and then stir in your bacon. Drain your pasta and add it to your sauce and mix everything until all of the pasta is coated evenly.

I have always wanted to make a pasta with bacon, so I saw this and figured “why not!”

I needed to double it for my family of 5 and whenever I make something for the first time something always goes wrong.

I cut up the bacon and put it in the pan to cook and it was going good and than wham it was overcooked *sigh*

I had to throw that out and start over and this time I just cooked the bacon in strips and then cut it up after, so much better, the bacon was perfect.

We just got done eating and it was a success. It was very tasty and the family loved it.

Will definitely make it again.

Thanks!
