I received this recipe years ago from a co-worker. It was her brother’s recipe for pasta sauce. It has since then become my favorite sauce recipe, even more then my mom’s passed down recipe.
1. Chop garlic, prosciutto and basil
2. Saute in olive oil in large saucepan until unrecognizable
3. Hand crush plum tomatoes…add to saucepan (28oz.can)
4. Add the crushed tomatoes to saucepan (28 oz. can)
5. Stir together
6. Add a few rounds of freshly ground pepper
7. Bring to a boil then turn heat to low and simmer with a cover partially on to allow steam to escape
8. Cook on low for at least 2 hours, stirring occasionally
This sauce is delicious on top of your favorite pasta…I love it on bowties. If you want to add meatballs…saute in a separate pan and add to cook along with sauce. If you prefer more garlic, go ahead. Now, that’s Italian.
