Description

An easy weeknight meal that is delicious and filling!

Ingredients

  • ½ whole Onion
  • 1 pound Sausage Links (I Use Italian Turkey Sausage)
  • 2 whole Tomatoes
  • 1 pound Pasta (I Use Egg Noodles)
  • 2 cups Chopped Broccoli
  • 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 2 cloves Garlic (medium), Minced
  • 1 Tablespoon Flour
  • 1 cup Milk
  • ½ cups Parmesan Cheese, Grated
  • Salt To Taste
  • Fresh Basil

Preparation

Heat a large non-stick skillet over medium heat. Chop the onion into a large dice. Slice sausage links in 1/2 inch slices. Chop tomato into a large dice. Saute onion in skillet until it begins to turn translucent. Add sausage and cook until done. Stir in tomato and remove from heat. Set the sausage, onion, and tomato mixture aside in a bowl. Do not wash the skillet.

Bring a large pot of salted water to boil. Add pasta and cook until 5 minutes away from al dente. Add broccoli and cook for the last five minutes.

While the pasta and broccoli are cooking, heat olive oil over medium heat until shimmering. Add garlic and stir until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Whisk in flour and cook for about a minute, or until raw taste is gone. Turn heat to low and add milk. Cook until slightly thicked; add parmesan cheese.

Drain the pasta and broccoli and combine everything in a large bowl. Add salt to taste. Top with extra parmesan and fresh basil and serve!
