My Momma made this all the time when I was little. Oh my, what an awesome memory!
I have been trying to make easy, family-friendly, money-saving meals lately. I was talking to her about how so many recipes call for a million ingredients and by the time you’re done shopping, your meals cost a lot of money. She told me that when Anna (my sis) and I were little, especially in Australia, most of our meals were simple and cheap.
1. Heat oven to 350 degrees.
2. In an ungreased 2-quart casserole dish, layer the meat, onion, veggie, potatoes and top with the cheese.
3. Bake covered for 20 minutes. Then uncover and cook for 10 more minutes or until cheese is melted and potatoes are golden brown.

This is one of my husband’s and my favorite comfort food meals. We add cream of mushroom to the ground beef otherwise exactly the same. Thanks for sharing!

I make this quite often (or did when my kids were home), the only difference is that I add a can of tomato soup to the ground beef.
