Description

A low-fat version of an Italian favorite!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ziti Pasta
  • 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 4 cloves Garlic, Minced
  • 1 can (28 Oz. Can) Crushed Tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Oregano
  • 3 teaspoons Fresh Basil Leaves, Chopped
  • 2 pinches Salt And Pepper, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 container 8oz Container Of Ricotta Cheese
  • 2 cups Skim Mozzarella Cheese
  • 3 whole Fresh Basil Leaves, For Garnish

Preparation

Preheat oven to 375 F and grease a 9 x 9 baking dish.

Boil a pot of water and cook the pasta according to package instructions. When done, drain it, put the pasta back in the pot and set aside.

In a skillet, heat up olive oil on medium heat then add your garlic. Saute for 30 seconds, then add in your crushed tomatoes, oregano, fresh basil, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Mix up and allow to heat through for about 3-4 minutes.

Add sauce to your cooked pasta, then add in your ricotta and half of your mozzarella cheese. Mix to combine then place it into your greased baking dish. Top with remaining mozzarella cheese, and some whole basil leaves, then bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes.
