Description

A simple, quick, and delicious way to turn ordinary ground beef into a sweet and savory sandwich that everyone will love!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground Beef
  • 2 Tablespoons Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Pepper
  • ½ cups Cola
  • 1 teaspoon Yellow Mustard
  • 6 whole Hamburger Buns
  • Diced Onions (to Garnish)
  • Pickle Slices (to Garnish)

Preparation

Brown ground beef in a skillet until there is no pink remaining. Break beef into small pieces (a potato masher does a great job of getting the beef into small pieces). Drain fat from skillet. Add sugar, pepper, salt, cola, and mustard – simmer until the liquid has cooked down (about 10 minutes).

Spoon beef mixture on to bun and top with onions, mustard, and pickles.

Note: I have used regular cola, cherry cola, and Dr. Pepper in this recipe and all variations have worked great.

We tried this last evening….it is yummy and soooo easy to prepare. We used onion buns and all the garnishes and followed the recipe as shown. I love hamburgers and this is a really good substitute for a big juicy burger. Thanks for the great tasting recipe. We will enjoy it often.
