A great way to cook shrimp and let your guests participate in the fun.
Place salt plate on the gas cook top (or BBQ grill) and heat it on medium high for 15 minutes.
In a medium sized bowl toss the shrimp in a little olive oil and garlic. When the salt block is very hot place the shrimp on it. They cook very quickly—in about 8 minutes, so keep an eye on them. Turn once. Put a few lemon slices on the block and cook until lightly browned, about 5 minutes. Don’t salt the shrimp, they will absorb some of the salt from the block.
Remove cooked shrimp to a platter and serve with your favorite sides. How easy was that!
*You can find Himalayan Salt Plates at most cook stores. I purchased mine at Sur La Table but I’ve seen them on Amazon.
