Description

An all-time favorite comfort food from my youth.

Ingredients

  • 2 Tablespoons Butter
  • 2 teaspoons Salt
  • Pepper To Taste
  • 2 cups Medium To Sharp Cheddar Cheese, Or More To Taste
  • 2 cups Uncooked Macaroni
  • 4 cups Milk
  • 1 package (about 14 To 16 Oz.) Hillshire Farm Smoked Sausage Ring

Preparation

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Place butter in a 9×13 pan and put it into the oven to melt while preheating.

While butter is melting, grate one 8-ounce block of cheddar cheese.

Take the butter out and add salt and pepper. Add the macaroni and stir to coat.

Add most of the cheese, reserving some for the top.

Pour in the milk and stir.

Sprinkle the rest of the cheese on top.

Bake uncovered for 35 minutes.

Place the smoked sausage on top of the macaroni and bake uncovered for 10 to 15 more minutes or until cooked through.

Just love this recipe. Simple straight across the board…..simple ingredients and cooking. I messed up and just cooked everything all together and it turned out great. It is DH approved too:) Perfect recipe for budgets too!
