Description

This homemade version of cheeseburger macaroni is much healthier than the boxed version and it’s also gluten-free.

Ingredients

  • 1 whole Onion, Chopped
  • 1 pound Lean Ground Turkey
  • 2 cups Water
  • 1-¼ cup Tomato Sauce
  • ½ teaspoons Mustard Powder
  • ½ teaspoons Onion Powder
  • ¼ teaspoons Garlic Powder
  • ½ pounds Elbow Shaped Gluten-free Brown Rice Pasta
  • 2 cups Shredded Cheddar Cheese (may Use Less, Depening On Tastes)

Preparation

Add the chopped onion and ground turkey into a large skillet. Cook over medium-high heat until the turkey is browned, breaking it into small bits as it cooks.

Stir in the water, tomato sauce, mustard powder, onion powder and garlic powder. When combined, stir in the pasta and bring to a boil.

Cover the skillet, reduce heat to medium/low and simmer for 15 minutes or until pasta is done.

Turn off the heat and stir in the cheese. Serve with steamed vegetables or a salad.

Great recipe. I used cavatappi pasta, cracker barrel gouda cheese. Next time I will try a cheddar cheese. This is a good (and easy) comfort-food meal.
