Georgia BLT. The classic BLT with a southern twist – fried green tomatoes!
Use sourdough or any other good, substantial bread. Spread two slices of bread with mayonnaise. Top with half of the lettuce, two slices of bacon and 3 or 4 slices of fried green tomatoes. Repeat. Makes two sandwiches.
Fried Green Tomatoes:
Heat oil to a depth of approximately 1/4 inch in a large cast iron frying pan over medium-high heat. Meanwhile, slice tomatoes into 1/4 inch slices. Sprinkle generously with seasoning salt or simply use salt and black pepper.
Dredge tomato slices in cornmeal. Add to hot oil and cook about 3 minutes per side.

Just made Fried Green Tomatoes for the first time today & was wishing that I had some bacon to go along with them – this recipe fits the bill, & I can’t wait to try it!

These are wonderful….I never liked “conventional” BLT’s but I love these!!!
