Description

We love homemade pizza around here. I like to make a lot of dough at once and just store it in my freezer for a quick and yummy meal. This has become my new favorite dough. I put all the ingredients in my mixer and it turns out perfectly every time. I never have to add more flour or water, it just comes together. This batch will make 1 large pizza crust or 2 individual crusts.

Ingredients

  • ¾ cups Warm Water
  • 1 envelope Active Dry Yeast, 0.25 Ounce Packet
  • 2 cups All-purpose Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
  • ¾ teaspoons Salt
  • 3 Tablespoons Olive Oil Plus Extra For Drizzling On Dough

Preparation

Pour 3/4 cup warm water into a small bowl; stir in yeast. Let stand until yeast dissolves, about 5 minutes.

Mix flour, sugar, and salt in bowl of a stand mixer. Add yeast mixture and 3 tablespoons oil; mix until dough forms a sticky ball. Then add the dough hook and knead using the mixer for about 3 minutes or until the dough forms a soft ball. Or you could do it by hand on a lightly floured surface.

Transfer to a large bowl, add a drizzle of olive oil and turn dough in bowl to coat with oil. Cover bowl with plastic wrap and let dough rise in a warm draft-free area until doubled in volume, about 1 hour. PUNCH down dough. Roll out dough and then follow your pizza recipe. For my recipe, I top with cheese and all the other ingredients and bake at 475 degrees F for about 12 minutes.

Note: dough can be made 1 day ahead. Store in airtight container in refrigerator.

I have made a lot of different pizza dough recipes and this is a good one. I will be using this one again. It was very easy to make. With any dough the problem I have is the middle not getting crispy so someone told me to heat your pizza pans in the oven. Be careful when you take them out and put the pizza on them. I will set everything up pull out the pan then quickly put the dough on it then build it and put it back in the oven. I would not do that with little ones. I let my son build his pizza then I will pull out his pan and put it on it. I wish I had a pizza stone but this has worked pretty good so far.
I love putting basil or garlic in the dough which adds a nice flavor.

Great dough! Easy to make and very tasty. I usually use the Betty Crocker packet kind, but this was WAY better! Thanks for sharing :)

Great dough! I’ve been looking for a simple, classic and tasty dough for a while and I finally found it!
Instead of 2cups of all purpose flour I used 1 cup plain flour and 1cup self raising flour and it raised beautifully :) Thanks for the recipe!! I loved it :)
