Yummy grilled cheese! We serve this on “girl days,” when all the ladies get together for lunch and a movie.
Cut the bacon in half and fry. Set aside on a paper towel to drain. Slice your cheese, thinly, and set aside. Butter one side of each slice of bread. Spread 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard each on five slices of the bread.
Warm a skillet over medium heat. Place a piece of bread (with Dijon mustard) butter-side down on the skillet. Layer two strips of bacon with a few slices of cheese and then a few of the thinly sliced apples. Cover with another slice of bread, this one without any mustard on it.
Fry the sandwich in the skillet until one side has browned, then flip over. Do not raise the heat above medium or the bread could burn! Do not squish the sandwich down with the spatula. Once both sides are browned, remove to a plate and allow to rest a few minutes before cutting in half and serving. Repeat with remaining ingredients.
Make 5 sandwiches.
