Description

This sauce slow cooks in the crockpot for hours and you can tell by the delicious flavor that develops. You will think again before pouring sauce out of a jar after you try this!

Ingredients

  • 1 whole Onion
  • 1 pound Ground Beef
  • 3 cloves Garlic, Minced
  • 28 ounces, weight Fire Roasted Tomatoes
  • 8 ounces, fluid Tomato Sauce
  • 6 ounces, fluid Tomato Paste
  • 2 teaspoons Dried Basil
  • 2 teaspoons Dried Oregano
  • 1 whole Dried Bay Leaf
  • ¾ teaspoons Salt
  • ⅛ teaspoons Red Pepper Flakes (optional)

Preparation

Chop the onion and add it to a pan on medium high heat. Add the ground beef and cook until no longer pink. Mince the garlic and add to the pan. Cook an additional 2 minutes or so.

Spray the crock of your slow cooker and add the ground beef mixture. Add the remaining ingredients and give it a good stir. Cook for 6-8 hours on low heat.

Serve over hot cooked noodles.

Enjoy!

Delicious, I made this on the stove and let the sauce simmer for an hour and a half. Ate the leftovers today and they were delicious. My husband and I are running a half marathon in three weeks. We are having people over for a pasta feed the night before and this is on the menu.
