These incredible BBQ chicken wings are the perfect game day snack! They are extremely crispy without any frying, all baked in the oven.
Preheat oven to 250ºF. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil. Place oven safe baking rack on the baking sheet. Spray baking racks with nonstick cooking spray.
Pat chicken wings dry with a paper towel. In a bowl, combine chicken wings, baking powder and salt.
Place chicken wings in single layer on the baking rack. Bake in the oven for 30 minutes. Keep wings in the oven and raise temperature to 425ºF. Bake for 40–50 minutes or until brown and crispy.
Let chicken wings cool for 5 minutes then toss in your favorite BBQ sauce.
Notes:
• I used a Party Pack chicken wings so they were already cut up into individual pieces but if you get whole chicken wings, make sure you cut them into flats and drumettes.
• Make sure you use aluminum free baking powder. Using regular baking powder might result in bitter chicken wings. I was able to find aluminum free baking powder in my local grocery store.
• I used Sweet Baby Ray’s for the BBQ sauce. It is rich and sweet!
