Description

This is comfort food at its finest! Easy to throw together and tastes like you worked all day on it. Serve it with steamed broccoli and a garlic bread stick, and you are set!

Ingredients

  • 6 whole Bonless, Skinless Chicken Breast Halves
  • 1 envelope Italian Dressing Mix (about 1 Oz. Packet)
  • ¼ cups Water
  • 1 package (8 Oz. Package) Cream Cheese, Softened
  • 1 can (10 3/4 Oz. Can) Cream Of Chicken Soup
  • 1 can (4 Oz. Can) Mushroom Stems And Pieces, Drained
  • 1 pound Angel Hair Pasta, Prepared According To Package Instruction

Preparation

Rinse and pat dry the raw, thawed chicken. Place it in a slow cooker. Combine salad dressing mix and water and then pour it over the chicken. Cover and cook on low for 3 hours.

In a small mixing bowl, beat together the cream cheese and soup until blended. Stir in mushrooms. At the 3 hour point, pour this over the chicken. Cook 1 hour longer, or until chicken juices run clear.

Serve over cooked angel hair pasta. Tastes great with steamed fresh broccoli and garlic bread sticks!

Oh, perfection! I am going to make this for my book club tonight. I have been searching for something I can prepare in advance and still serve hot & fresh. This is the ticket. I’ll report back with my results.

Great meal for the weekday, so simple to fix and tastes great. However, I would add that it’s more a hearty quick-fix for the family, not something impressive to serve guests — you can tell the sauce came out of a can primarily, not home-made.

This was excellent. I had put this on my post birth of new baby easy dinner list and it met my needs. Little to no work and high on taste. I used the zesty Italian dry dressing mix, and low fat cream cheese. We also used piccolini as we were out of angel hair. Even or picky 8 year liked it.

I made this last night, and it was really good! My picky eater kids even asked for seconds. I made a few changes because I was feeling extra lazy. I just sprinkled the Italian dressing mix over the chicken, then poured in the water separate. And again I just dumped in the soup mushrooms and the cream cheese without mixing and came back and stirred it like 10 minutes later. Doing the “lazy version” didn’t seem to mess it up at all.

I made this for dinner tonight and it was so easy and delicious! I loved that it didn’t make a big mess! The only things that I did different were: we had green onions, so we used them as a garnish (and it added a great taste if you like green onions) and I used a little bit less angel hair and I actually threw it in the crock pot with everything else and mixed it all together. The only thing that I might change is that next time I will probably add 2 packets of Italian seasoning (instead of just one) to the chicken because my husband and I like really flavorful food. I also think that crushed red peppers would be great on top. Thank you so much for sharing this recipe– it is definitely going into our regular line-up!
