Sweet, tangy and salty ham made in a crockpot.
1. Trim ham to fit inside of your medium to large sized crockpot. If you have a huge crock pot you can probably skip this step. I had to trim about an inch off the bottom in order for it to fit. Place it skin side down in crockpot.
2. Add the juices, pouring them directly over the top of the ham. Squeeze the juice of the orange over ham, leaving the pulp if it lands on the ham.
3. In a small bowl, add brown sugar, honey and orange zest and mix together until it forms a paste.
4. Rub paste over the top and sides of ham to evenly cover.
5. Put lid on crockpot, I also had to put a couple bags of rice on top to weigh it down, with a towel underneath.
6. Cook on low for 7-8 hours, basting with juices every hour.
7. Once done, let it cool and then serve or place in the fridge until you are ready to serve. Enjoy!

I buy usually a half shank ham that has been smoked, but has no glaze and that you need to cook before serving. I was referring to the half you just have to warm and then serve that come with that glaze packet.

This sounds amazing….if you’re not buying a store bought cooked ham….what are you buying ??
I thought uncured fresh ham was just a large piece of pork (like a pork chop.)
Where would I find a fresh cured raw ham that must be cooked ??
Thanks
