Fajitas without the mess. This tasty dish has the great taste of chicken fajitas on a bun with cilantro lime sauce.
1. Saute green pepper in butter and fajita seasoning.
2. While the green peppers are cooking, mix cilantro, sour cream and lime and put to the side. Dip a chip in it while you wait. It is yuummy! If you have a handful of extra monterey jack cheese, throw that in the sour cream mixture, too.
3. Once the green peppers are cooking and smelling delicious, mix it together with the cheese and ground chicken.
4. Mix and squeeze and combine with your hands. Score into 4 sections and fry in the pan used to saute the green peppers.
5. Cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side.
6. Serve on buns and top with cilantro lime sauce.
Note: can be served with tomatoes and chips.

Oh no! I am sorry they were bland. The fajita seasoning is key. I have never tried it with any other brand. The D. L. Jardine’s that we have here is Texas is pretty strong. So for that brand, 1 1/2 T is plenty. Perhaps with another brand you may need to add more. Thanks for pointing that out as the fajita seasoning can make or breat this burger. I have always used this brand and have never tried it with anything else! The onions and red peppers would be a great addition!

I followed the directions exactly and I felt the burgers were a little bland, though I do feel they have “potential” and will make them again!! Next time, I will add onions and red peppers with the green peppers and I will add the fajita seasoning straight to the meat, instead of sauteing the vegetables in butter and seasoning. Add salsa, guacamole, tomatoes — anything you would add to a “regular” fajita. Great for something out of the ordinary!
