Description

A new twist on an old favorite. My sister gave me this recipe a while back and it is one of my favorites to make for a crowd.

Ingredients

  • 1 package Spaghetti, Cooked (16 Ounces)
  • 2 jars Spaghetti Sauce (24 Ounces Each)
  • 2 pounds Ground Beef, Browned
  • 4 Tablespoons Butter
  • 4 Tablespoons Flour
  • 4 Tablespoons Grated Parmesan Cheese
  • 2 teaspoons Salt
  • ½ teaspoons Garlic Powder
  • 12 ounces, fluid Evaporated Milk
  • 3 cups Shredded Cheddar Cheese, Divided

Preparation

Combine cooked spaghetti noodles, sauce and browned ground beef; set aside. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter; add flour, Parmesan cheese, salt and garlic powder. Stir constantly until smooth and bubbly. Add evaporated milk and one cup of cheddar cheese; stir until thoroughly melted.

Pour half of the spaghetti mixture into a 9X13 inch casserole dish and spread cheese mixture on top. Pour remaining spaghetti mixture over cheese mixture and top with remaining shredded cheese. Bake at 350F for 30 minutes.

Makes 12-18 servings. This recipe can easily be divided in half.

I made this tonight and my family loved it. It was creamy, comforting and filling. I served it with some veggies on the side. It was nice because I had all the ingredients on hand and we have leftovers. Yay!

My husband said it was the best recipe I’ve ever found. It was so good, my 3 year old kept saying “mmmm, delicious” all through dinner. I only used 1 lb of beef and 1 jar of sauce but the entire box of noodles and I think it was the perfect proportions.
