Description

This is my favorite comfort food recipe.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Heavy Cream
  • 1 cup Whole Milk
  • 2 Tablespoons Cornstarch
  • 2 cups Grated White Cheddar Cheese
  • 2 pinches Salt And Pepper, Each
  • 1 pound Elbow Macaroni, Cooked And Strained, Tossed With 2 Tablespoons Unsalted Butter
  • ½ cups Bread Crumbs
  • ½ teaspoons Sesame Seeds
  • 2 ounces, weight Butter, Diced Into Small Pieces

Preparation

In a saucepan, bring heavy cream, milk, corn starch, cheese, and seasonings to a boil, then stir and simmer until cheese is melted. Toss with macaroni and pour into a baking dish. Sprinkle bread crumbs and sesame seeds on top and dot with butter. Bake for 30 minutes in a preheated 350ºF oven, or until bread crumbs are toasted and nicely browned. Transfer into a crock pot to keep warm for buffet dinner guests.
