Description

Get your summer barbecue season started early with bacon wrapped beef kabobs! Everything is better with bacon.

Ingredients

  • 3 whole Top Sirloin Steaks
  • 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice
  • 2 Tablespoons Montreal Steak Spice (or Your Favorite Beef Rub)
  • Bacon, 1/2 Strip For Each Beef Cube
  • Wooden (See Note) Or Metal Skewers

Preparation

Note: If using wooden skewers, pre-soak the skewers in water for at least 1 hour prior to barbecuing to help reduce the amount of wood burn.

Trim the exterior fat from your beef steaks and cut each steak into cubes measuring around 1-1/2″. Place all the beef cubes into a large bowl and drizzle with olive oil and lemon juice. Sprinkle with Montreal Steak Spice, or your favorite rub, and gently toss and massage the spices into the meat. Cover and refrigerate for 1–2 hours.

Preheat the barbecue.

Wrap each steak cube with 1/2 strip of raw bacon. Thread 5 or 6 bacon wrapped cubes onto each skewer, careful not to overload each skewer as you still want to have a small amount of space between each cube so that the bacon is cooked all the way around the meat. Place the skewers on the barbecue and cook them until the bacon is cooked to your liking, turning once on each side.
