Man food at it’s finest! Finger lickin’, bone-suckin’, hot-off-the-grill goodness.
Preheat grill (using medium high heat) and brush the grate lightly with oil.
In a large bowl, stir together all ingredients except the chicken. Reserve 1/2 cup of the barbeque sauce; set aside. (Set a little more aside if you like to use it as a dipping sauce – I know I do.)
Add the chicken to the remaining sauce in the bowl, turning to coat.
Arrange the chicken on the grill. Cook covered for about 40 to 45 minutes or until cooked through. At around the 20-minute mark, go ahead and use the sauce that you set aside to baste your chicken.
Cook’s Tip: If you have time, try brining your chicken. Take 1 quart cold water, 1/4 cup + 2 tablespoon kosher salt, 1/2 cup sugar and mix together in a large bowl. Add chicken and cover with plastic wrap. Put in the fridge for at least 4 hours. This will help ensure a really juicy and tender chicken.

Oh, this was very good! I liked the amount of heat in it, my husband says we’ll kick it up next time, but we’ll definitely use this recipe again.

Definitely don’t oversplash with the liquid smoke. A little dab will do ya. Not very smokey at all. This is definitely a recipe you can adjust to taste.

hello TM,
this looks very promising, but i haven’t had much luck with liquid smoke… just how smokey is the result? is it in the background of flavors? thanks!

This is a nice recipe to play around with too. If you like it a little spicier you can add red pepper flakes or even a couple dashes of hot sauce. Hope you enjoy it!!
