Chocolate chip cookies reminiscent of that chocolate orange candy, only better!
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Line several baking sheets with parchment paper or baking mats; set aside.
2. In a medium bowl, add flour, baking soda, salt and ground ginger. Whisk to combine; set aside.
3. In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter with the sugars until well combined. Add the whole egg, egg yolk and vanilla. Whisk to incorporate. Stir in the orange zest.
4. Pour the wet mixture into the flour mixture, stirring until just combined.
5. Stir in the chocolate chips.
6. Cover and refrigerate dough for 1 hour.
7. Using a small cookie scoop, scoop small dough balls onto prepared baking sheets, 2 inches apart.
8. Bake at 375ºF for 10 minutes, or until golden brown around the edges.
9. Remove from the oven and cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes, then transfer cookies to wire racks to cool completely.

we get chocolate oranges (by palmers, i think) around holiday time, they are divine, such a treat. i cannot wait to try this recipe, if it’s like i’m imagining, it will be like little blobs of heaven baked up all warm and gooey. mmmm.

Where do you buy the chocolate oranges? I’ve never seen one before, but I love the idea! I’ve been using the Lindt Intense Orange bar when I want orange/chocolate together.
