Description

One of my husband’s family favorite recipes! Delicious warm over waffles, pancakes, ice cream or even toast! And, ridiculously easy to make!

Ingredients

  • ¾ cups Granulated Sugar
  • 4 Tablespoons Cornstarch
  • ½ cups Water
  • 1 quart Jarred Blackberries (or 4 Cups Frozen Blackberries)

Preparation

In a medium saucepan, stir sugar and cornstarch together with a whisk. Slowly stir in water until smooth. Stir in blackberries, juice and all. Place pot on heat and bring to boil stirring frequently. Once sauce thickens, it’s done!

*Of course you can add more cornstarch for a thicker syrup or add more water for a thinner syrup, depending on your preference!

Super easy and really good. I ate it right off the spoon! Not overly sweet which is a good thing. Can’t wait to have it on pancackes tomorrow morning.

This syrup turned out perfectly and was so easy to quickly whip together for a special treat. I used fresh dewberries from our garden. Perfect topping for pancakes!!!!
