Description

A Cozy Kitchen makes a Dutch Baby with Lavender Sugar. Perfect for your Mom on Mother’s Day!

Ingredients

  • ⅓ cups Sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon Dried Lavender
  • 3 whole Large Eggs
  • ⅔ cups Whole Milk At Room Temperature
  • ⅔ cups All-purpose Flour
  • ¼ teaspoons Pure Vanilla Extract
  • ⅛ teaspoons Nutmeg
  • ⅛ teaspoons Cinnamon
  • ⅛ teaspoons Salt
  • ½ sticks Unsalted Butter, Cut Into Pieces

Preparation

Put a 10″ cast iron skillet on the middle rack of oven and preheat oven to 450ºF.

Stir together sugar and dried lavender in a small bowl. Set aside.

Beat eggs with an electric mixer at high speed until pale and frothy, then beat in milk, flour, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt and continue to beat until smooth, about 1 minute more (batter will be thin).

Add butter to hot skillet and melt, swirling to coat. Add batter and immediately return skillet to oven. Bake until puffed and golden-brown, 18 to 25 minutes. Serve immediately, topped with lavender sugar.

I wasn’t able to find lavender so I used powdered sugar and lemon instead, but the dutch baby recipe was delicious! Light and fluffy, thanks for sharing
