Description

Fat, thick pork chops browned then baked in a delicious mix of heavenly butter, apples, and spice. Why are you still reading this? Make some!

Ingredients

  • 4 whole 3/4" Thick Pork Chops
  • 1 dash Salt
  • 1 dash Pepper
  • 3 teaspoons Olive Oil
  • 3 Tablespoons Light Brown Sugar
  • ¼ teaspoons Pumpkin Or Apple Pie Spice
  • 2 whole Golden Delicious Apples, Peeled, Cored, And Sliced
  • 4 Tablespoons Unsalted Butter

Preparation

Preheat oven to 250 degrees (F). Place a baking dish in the oven, and place a pan on the stove. Start heating the pan on medium-high.

Salt and pepper both sides of your pork chops. Pour the olive oil (I eyeballed mine) into your preheated pan. Place your pork chops into the oil. Brown on both sides – you just want some color on each side of the meat, you aren’t looking to fully cook the pork on the stove top.

While your pork is browning, in a bowl, throw together the brown sugar, the pie spice, and the apples. Stir, stir, stir until well mixed.

Pull out your (now hot!) baking dish. Place your browned pork chops in it, and top with the apple mixture. Top the apples with the butter. (About 1 tablespoon per chop.)

Bake in the oven for about 10- 15 minutes. It won’t take long to finish cooking through.
