A nice twist on an old favorite!
Brown bacon with ground beef, onions, garlic and bell pepper in a large skillet and break up meat with a spoon or spatula. Drain grease. Add vinegar, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, tomato sauce, tomato paste and brown sugar. Mix together and simmer for 10 minutes. Stir in pineapple and season with salt and pepper. Serve on kaiser rolls or any rolls you’d like.
Idea! Serve with macaroni salad and Hawaiian potato chips.
(Recipe inspired by Rachael Ray’s Hula Joes.)

I made these tonight and they were wonderful! I did leave out the bacon but they were still fantastic. Thanks for the great recipe!

I have an affinity to the salty/sweet combination of bacon and pineapple, and for sloppy joes. I will be making these really soon. I like using my slow cooker for sloppy joes and I will add the pineapple at the every end so it heats through but not break down.
