This tofu is so delicious my kids get all excited when I make it!! If you have never tried tofu before, you will now be a lover.
Mix all the ingredient but the tofu in a bowl.
Put the tofu in a plastic container or serving dish that you can cover. Pour the marinade over the tofu. Cover and refrigerate for about an hour.
You can also slightly coat the tofu in flour or cornmeal and saute it if you desire, but we almost always eat it straight from the container here

I made this last night. We did saute it and it was very easy and tasty. I added a little hot sauce to the marinade for a little extra kick. I would make it again.

I made this with tofu that I froze first. It was a tip that I picked up somewhere along the way…freeze it, thaw it, then follow the recipe. It makes the texture more chewy like chicken.
A very good and easy recipe!

This was delicious! As promised, it was delicious straight out of the marinade. I also made another batch of tofu slabs (not cubes) that I coated in a mixture of flour, nutritional-yeast flakes, and black pepper, and then pan-fried in a small amount of canola oil in a nonstick skillet. It was great! Even my omnivorous fiance loved it.

This sounds fantastic! I’m going to make this tomorrow. (I wanted to say “I’m going to make this tamari,” but that just seemed too over the top. Oh, wait–I said it anyway!) Thank you for submitting this. I’m always looking for new things to do with tofu, and I would have never thought of pairing the thyme and basil with the tamari.
