I love the taste of cabbage rolls but I don’t want to spend that much time making them. This is an easy solution.
Scramble fry the ground beef with the onion until no longer pink.
Spray a large casserole dish with cooking spray. Layer 2 cups of the cabbage, 1/2 cup of the rice followed by half the ground beef mixture.
Repeat layers and top with remaining cabbage.
Mix the tomato soup with the salt, water and 2 cups of the tomato juice. Pour over the top of the casserole. Add tomato juice as needed to just barely cover the casserole.
Cover and bake at 325°F for 2 hours or until the cabbage and rice are tender.

I just made something similar tonight for dinner. I combined a few different recipes and it came out great. One suggestion I would make… replace a third of the ground beef with ground pork. It adds a different dimension of flavour.

Thank you, I’ve been looking for this recipe for a very long time!!! I had it once as a teen, and never could get the recipe out of my grandmother’s friend.

My grandmothers recipe for cabbage rolls is very similar to this. We add chopped crisp fried bacon and Bell’s poultry seasoning to the mix. This recipe was MUCH easier than making them traditionally. I’m sure this will become favorite in my house.

I pretty much just love this stuff! So easy, acceptably healthy, and versatile enough that you don’t need every single exact ingredient in the pantry that the recipe calls for!

This is how I make mine too. I loved my mom’s cabbage rolls but I don’t enjoy cooking as much as she does so I do things the easy way. This recipe is awesome! And it tastes better the next day… as is usually the case with cabbage rolls too!
