This is a recipe that I came up with when my husband wanted steak but we didn’t have any. It’s simple, delicious, and cheaper than real steak. It’s become a staple in our house.
Heat 2 tablespoons of butter and the oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Mix seasonings in a small bowl, then rub the mixture evenly on both sides of the pork chops. When butter has melted, place pork chops in the skillet and cook for approximately 10-12 minutes per side, or until no longer pink. Remove the pork chops from the skillet and keep warm.
Place the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter in the same skillet over medium heat; add the sliced onions. Saute onions until they start to turn light brown, about 12 minutes; season with salt and pepper if desired.
Place porkchops on plates and top each with half of the sauteed onions.

My husband (a beef rancher/farmer) LOVED! This is a pretty big deal, getting him to eat pork! I totally will make again!
