My husband loves this simple and tasty fish preparation. In fact, when I bookmark more complicated recipes he asks if we can just do the foil packets again. Sometimes simple really is best and this is definitely one of those times! Only tried Trout so far, but using some fresh Grouper tonight. Thanks for sharing!

Fish is an item that I have only recently started cooking so I was on the look-out for something easy and fail-proof. This dish is so tasty and is super easy. It took about 2 minutes to throw together which is good since my baby was fussing for me the entire time. The flavor and texture were both wonderful, and with such easy prep and clean up too! Definitely a recipe that I’ll be using again.
Rather than using a whole fish, I had some frozen pre-portioned trout from costco. I used one serving size of the fish and, even though I was worried that cooking it the entire 45 minutes might dry it out, the fish was perfectly moist and delicious.

I’m glad you were able to use the recipe! It’s how my daddy always made trout. I’m sorry I’m just now responding- I got a new job in April so my internet time was non-existent! LOL… In the future, freeze whole trout in water freezer bags, and thaw as needed. If you have to reheat, reheat in the oven with a little added olive oil and not the microwave as the microwave draws out the moisture and makes it dry.

Oh thank you for posting this!! A dear friend recently brought me several frozen trout that he had caught. I had a mild panic attack about what to do with them and this recipe was the perfect solution!
I baked two fish and just ate the first one. DELICIOUS!! However, I got full and placed the second fish in the fridge, still wrapped in its foil. Will it be ok reheated?
Thank you again!
