Description

Mmm … tasty, but by no means to be considered health food.

Ingredients

  • 3 slices Day Or Two Old French Bread
  • 2 Tablespoons Butter
  • 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil

Preparation

Slice up the bread into 1/4 inch chunks.

Grab a big nonstick skillet that can handle 500-degree heat and heat some butter in there on medium high heat.

When it starts getting that nutty smell, roll the pan around to make sure it evenly spreads and then dump the bread in.

Shake the pan.

Wait a minute.

Shake the pan again.

Fiddle with your apron strings.

Shake the pan.

Say hello to the doggy who has discovered that you have food and maybe she can have some by licking your toes.

Notice that the underside of the croutons are on their way to nice and golden (it’s been maybe 3 minutes).

Drizzle a little bit of olive oil around on top of the half baked croutons.

Grab your spatula and flip the croutons.

Repeat shaking steps from above.

About halfway through your shaking, you remember that you wanted to turn the broiler on in your oven.

Do that.

Shake some more (total 3 minutes on this side) and then stick them in the oven for about a minute.

Take them out. Put them on caesar salad. Personally, I like them warm on the salad.
