Description

This is my husband’s creation. I call it Yucky, because that is everyone’s first reaction when they hear the ingredients, but he has an amazing way of blending unusual flavors and making it work!

Ingredients

  • 4 cans Tuna Fish
  • ½ cups Mayonnaise
  • ¼ cups Mustard
  • ¼ cups Sweet Relish
  • ½ cups Cashews, Chopped
  • ½ cups Craisins, Chopped
  • Cinnamon Raisin Bagels
  • Swiss Cheese
  • Iceberg Lettuce

Preparation

This is my husband’s creation. I call it Yucky, because that is everyone’s first reaction when they hear the ingredients, but he has an amazing way of blending unusual flavors and making it work!

Mix the Tuna, Mayo, Mustard, Sweet Relish, Cashews and Craisins together.

Toast the Cinnamon Raisin Bagel. DO NOT use any other flavor bagel… it just won’t taste right…believe me I’ve tried it!

Note: These are meant as an open face sandwich. I usually then cut the open-face sandwich in half. It is easier for my kids to eat that way and they are really filling.

Once the bagel is toasted, place a slice of Swiss cheese, lettuce and top with the Tuna mixture….let it sit for about one minute to let the cheese melt just a little and then Dig In!

I hope you enjoy this recipe as much as my family does. My kids usually can’t wait for the bagel part and dig in with their forks eating the tuna right out of the bowl!

We’ve also made this as an appetizer for parties. I just put it in a pretty bowl and serve with crackers and small squares of Swiss cheese, skipping the bagel and lettuce.
