Generations of Schneiders have made this very simple dish. It shows up at family dinners, potlucks and of course Grandma always makes it best. Wonderful served with salad drenched in ranch dressing and a veggie.
Cook noodles according to package directions; drain.
Mix the cooked noodles together with sour cream, cottage cheese, half-and-half and salt. (It will seem very soupy and look like you don’t have enough noodles, but once it is baked, it firms up.)
Melt the butter. Add cubed bread and toss together. Cover the noodle mixture with the buttered bread cubes. Bake at 350 F for 45 minutes or until bubbly and bread is nicely toasted.
