Description

Goodbye store-bought and hello easy and homemade Catalina Dressing.

Ingredients

  • ½ whole Yellow Onion Roughly Chopped
  • ½ cups Ketchup
  • ¼ cups Red Wine Vinegar
  • ¼ cups Honey
  • ¼ cups Light Brown Sugar
  • ½ Tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • ¾ teaspoons Kosher Salt
  • ¼ teaspoons Ground Black Pepper
  • 1 cup Extra Light Olive Oil

Preparation

Throw the roughly chopped onion into the bowl of your food processor. Pulse until finely chopped. Next add in everything, stopping at the olive oil.

Turn the food processor on to blend and then slowly drizzle in the extra light olive oil. Once blended, pour the dressing into a jar with a tight-fitting lid and store in the fridge until ready to use.

Can keep for 1 to 2 weeks. Makes 2 cups.

Yum! This sounds delicious. Catalina has always been one of my favorite dressings for a taco salad. I’m not a fan of bottled salad dressing and so usually make my own, so I’m excited to try a new kind. Thanks!

I thought this very good – I didn’t have red wine vinegar so used white wine vinegar with a tiny splash of cherry juice to up the red factor! I only used about 2/3 cup of olive oil.

Really tasty and super close to what I imagine when I think of Catalina dressing. The only thing I didn’t like was the strong olive oil flavor. I will probably use an oil with a milder taste next time.
