Description

Slider-sized spinach and lean ground turkey patties are stuffed into pita halves with fresh veggies and a tangy, spicy whipped feta.

Ingredients

  • ½ cups Roasted Garlic & Jalapeno Whipped Feta
  • 1 pound Lean Ground Turkey
  • 2 cups Baby Spinach Leaves, Shredded
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Oregano
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Parsley
  • 2 cloves Roasted Garlic, Smashed
  • ¼ teaspoons Salt
  • ½ teaspoons Freshly Ground Black Pepper
  • 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 2 whole Pita Bread Rounds, Halved
  • Optional For Serving: Chopped Red Onion, Spinach Leaves, Cucumber, And Tomato Slices

Preparation

Prepare a batch of the whipped feta (see my TastyKitchen recipe box for this recipe), roasting additional garlic for the burgers if desired.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, spinach leaves, spices, garlic, salt and pepper. Mix with your hands until well combined and shape into 8 equal-sized patties.

Lightly brush a grill pan with the olive oil and heat over medium-high heat, or prepare your grill. Grill the patties until cooked through, about 5 minutes per side.

To serve, spread a thin layer of whipped feta on the inside of each pita half. Stuff each half with two burger patties, additional baby spinach leaves, cucumber, tomato, and red onion slices. Top with additional whipped feta if desired.
