Sweet apple, smoked bacon and gooey cheese all smashed together between two slices of hearty bread. What more could you want?
Butter your bread and preheat a skillet over medium heat.
Lay the first slice down, (butter-side touching the pan) and sprinkle a little bit of the cheese.
Layer the apples, bacon, a couple grinds of black pepper and that off with half of the grated Gruyere cheese.
Place the second slice on top of that and carefully flip when the underneath is golden and crispy.
Repeat with the second sandwich. Enjoy!
