A simple Alfredo sauce with Italian sausage, mushrooms and peppers over tortellini.
1. To prepare the sauce, cut cream cheese into bits and combine in a saucepan with butter, milk and parmesan cheese over medium heat. Stir constantly until smooth. Remove from heat and keep warm.
2. Prepare tortellini according to package directions.
3. Meanwhile, break up sausage and cook over medium heat for 5 minutes. Add garlic, mushrooms, peppers and onions and cook until sausage is no longer pink. Add sauce and heat over low heat for 10 minutes until flavors are well blended. Serve over hot tortellini. Top with freshly grated parmesan cheese.
