Description

The easiest and most basic meatball recipe.

Ingredients

  • FOR THE MEATBALLS:
  • 2 pounds Ground Beef
  • ⅔ cups Dry Bread Crumbs
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • ½ teaspoons Pepper
  • 1 Tablespoon Dehydrated Minced Onion
  • ½ cups Water, If Needed, To Moisten The Mixture
  • FOR THE GRAVY:
  • 2 cups Water
  • 1 whole Small Onion, Finely Diced
  • 3 Tablespoons Beef Bouillon Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • ¼ teaspoons Pepper
  • ¼ cups Cornstarch, Dissolved In An Equal Amount Of Water
  • 1 can (10 Oz. Size) Mushroom Pieces
  • 1 can (10 Oz. Size) Cream Of Mushroom Soup
  • 2 teaspoons Parsley Flakes
  • ¼ teaspoons Paprika
  • 2 cups Sour Cream

Preparation

Preheat oven to 425ºF.

In a large bowl, mix meatball ingredients. Drop with a cookie scoop onto a cookie sheet. Shape and press each ball by hand into a tight meatball. Bake for 15 minutes. Transfer meatballs to a casserole dish or freeze for using later.

In a medium saucepan, bring water, onion, bouillon, salt, and pepper to a boil. Stir cornstarch into an equal amount of water and whisk into boiling liquid. Return to a boil until thickened. Stir in mushrooms and liquid, soup, parsley, paprika, and sour cream. Pour over meatballs in a casserole. Cover and bake for 45 minutes until hot and bubbly.

Serve over boiled potatoes, mashed potatoes, or hot cooked egg noodles or linguine.
