Fall and winter time comfort food, can easily be upgraded, twisted, etc. Chicken, cheese, veggies, crescent rolls…deliciousness.
Grab your cookie sheets (you’ll need 2) and turn the oven to 350 or whatever it says on the crescent roll package.
In a good sized mixing bowl, mix cream cheese, chicken, scallions, and spinach. (Feel free to add some crumbled bacon, or some left over ham, or whatever seems to taste good to you!)
The chicken breast in can is fine, just cut it up smaller. I especially like this recipe near the holidays because it’s a great way to use up the left over turkey or chicken that normally would get turned into soup or tossed!
Add/blend in some garlic powder, season salt, hot pepper flakes, etc, whatever you like to taste, although this filling is so rich you might be okay without it.
Open up a can of crescent rolls. Take one triangle, put a large, heaping spoonful of the mixture in the middle, and fold it up, pinch all sides to make sure it won’t ooze out. Place on cookie sheet. Repeat x 23 more times, assuming your can of crescent rolls has 8 rolls per can!
OPTIONAL PART: Once situated on your cookie sheets, brush melted butter over the tops and sprinkle with crushed dry stuffing crumbs.
Bake according to crescent roll directions, about 8-11 minutes or until golden brown.
Spoon drizzle with gravy and serve, careful the filling is HOT.
Awesome comfort food. I say it feeds 8 because this feeds 4 adults in my family, twice. They are awesome the next day, cold for lunch, too.
