I had this for dinner recently and it was great. If you cook the sauce as directed it thickens up some, but if it is still to thin for you then you may want to go another route. I used pork shoulder and like I said it was great. Thanks for sharing.

I made this for dinner tonight. Started it about 8am. It was the best thing EVER! The sauce was great- we put cole slaw on top of the meat and then the sauce. The kids ate two servings and hubby had three. Thanks for the recipe!!! I would not change a thing.

The sauce was MUCH too spicy, I just noticed you used Heinz Chili sauce, which much be much milder than the one I used. I only used 1/2 cup and it was like fire. The crockpot meat with the rootbeer was ok though, but I think I’ll follow the lead of others and just use BBQ sauce.

This was alright. The sauce was a little too thin and made the bread all soggy. I think we’re just going to stick with bbq sauce for our pulled pork sandwiches. The sauce was good but not very sweet, I think if I tried this again, I’d use Coke instead of Root Beer.

Do you have a particular brand of Chili sauce that you like to use?

The brand should not matter, I just used Mug since it was on sale. But do as it says and do not sub for diet root beer!
