This is a quick Italian sausage recipe that is full of flavor.
Slice French bread and spread with butter. Wrap in foil and put in the oven at 350ºF until toasted.
Slice sausage, remove casing and brown in a skillet. Slice zucchini and onions. Remove sausage and drain on paper towels. Brown zucchini and onions in the sausage drippings.
Add tomatoes and green chilies, oregano, garlic salt, sugar, basil and pepper. Stir to mix.
Sprinkle Italian bread crumbs on top of the zucchini mixture. Arrange sausage on top of the bread crumbs. Cover and cook 10 minutes until zucchini is tender.
Serve with hot bread.
