Tasty Kitchen Blog: Back to School Granola Bites and a Lunch Box Giveaway!

School is starting! How is that possible? It’s sad to say good-bye to summer, but most of us actually welcome the return to school and a little more routine in our lives. We also start off the year with good intentions for lunch packing organization. We want to keep it interesting but also pack food the kids will actually eat! We love these No-Bake Healthy Granola Bites from TK Member Mel. They’re the perfect addition to a tasty lunch or a great after-school snack. And a little bit of chocolate never hurts!

Sara K. on 8.15.2014

I usually take some kind of leftovers for lunch, but that’s good since I only cook what I like (obviously!). My daughter loves lunchables, but I try to limit how often she takes those since they aren’t the healthiest choice.

Lyn on 8.15.2014

My kids LOVE banana chocolate chip muffins with cut up sausage, veggies with hummus or baba Ganoush and fruit. Just NOT oranges.
They also love having salsa and nacho chips for a treat.

My girls love dill pickle wraps. I spread a little light cream cheese on a tortilla and then a piece of ham or turkey or salami and then a put a dill pickle down the middle. Roll it up and then slice. They also love when I put something warm in the thermos.

Beth on 8.15.2014

Mine like lunchmeat, cheese and crackers.

Becky on 8.15.2014

To be honest, my kids usually want all the prepackaged stuff. However, my muffins usually make it in their lunch boxes no matter what.

Sara Gentle on 8.15.2014

All 4 of our boys would agree – mac & cheese!

John on 8.15.2014
