Who says great recipes have to have a gazillion ingredients, with complicated a process? Not me. Simple and tasty recipes are welcome any day around here. Less is best in my book. And these Nutella Cookies from Tasty Kitchen member ABusyNest are no exception. With only four ingredients, it’s easy to whip up a batch these crunchy, but chewy, sweet (but not too sweet), nutty-tasting cookies. No one needs to know how easy they are. It can be our little secret.
What are we waiting for? Let’s get started.
To get started you’ll need sugar, an egg, flour and Nutella. That’s it. Easy, huh?
Begin by mixing together the sugar and egg. Next add in the flour.
Mix together a tad. Finish up with the Nutella.
Oh Nutella, you are my friend. My sweet, sweet friend. I really like you.
Combine well. The batter will be somewhat crumbly, like this.
Using your hands, make approximately 1″ balls and place on a lined or greased cookie sheet.
Flatten each cookie dough ball with a flat bottomed glass or your hand, if you prefer.
Flatten them out for a crunchy cookie, with a little bit of a chewy center, or flatten them only slightly for a chewier version.
Bake at 350°F for 7-8 minutes or until set. Cool slightly, or snag one while still warm. Enjoy!
After making the batch, and seeing it quickly disappear, I realized it would’ve made the perfect cookie for an ice cream sandwich, or crumbled up for an ice cream topping.

Ingredients
- 1 cup Nutella
- ½ cups Sugar
- 1 cup All-purpose Flour
- 1 whole Egg
Preparation Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 F.
Blend all ingedients together well. Form into 1″ balls. Place on a cookie sheet. Press down firmly with the bottom of a glass. Bake 7-8 minutes or until set. Cool.

The kds and I just did these and they are awesome!! Just a bit bummer I didn’t have any chic chips to throw into the batter.. I think it would taste a tad better. But this has got to be the easiest cookie batter recipe ever!!

I just made these guys for book club! Such a simple recipe and they were a huge hit! I added a dash of cinnamon and it really complimented the choc/hazelnut flavors. Definitely go by the recipe though—I thought it could use another egg and ended up having to double my recipe b/c the extra egg made it TOO moist!

Made these today – using gluten free flour and 1/2 teaspoon xanthum gum. I used a small scoop to scoop the dough into balls and then flattened them on the cookie tray which was quick and easy to do. They are delicious and don’t suffer from being gluten free – will try peanut butter ones next time.

I’ve made the Nutella cookies a number of times; even sub’d organic peanut butter for the Nutella entirely and made yummy cookies that way too.
This time I made the cookie dough as outlined but patted it down inside an 8×8 brownie pan and baked it at 350 for 10 mins. Then I switched the (toaster oven) to broil added mini marshmallows to the entire top of the Nutella “brownies” and heated them under the broiler until toasty. Once cool enough to cut into squares, I sandwiched each square between two graham crackers. Instant s’mores…buy adding just two more ingredients! Yum & enjoy!

My husband LOVES Nutella. It became a staple for him after living in Germany for 8 years where they eat Nutella on toast for breakfast. (breakfast!) He has been away on business for the last week and arrives home tonight so I thought I would surprise him with these to welcome him home. For me, they are a bit too sweet. On the second tray, I sprinkled a small pinch of kosher salt on the cookies as soon as they came out of the oven and….oh, my. That bit of saltiness was just what my palate needed!

Sooo…yeah. These look so yummy, but since I am going to TRY to keep to my “healthy eating” regime, I will opt to toast sprouted grain bread, slather (well, lightly slather!) it with NUTELLA, and put sliced bananas on top. My go to sweet tooth fix, with a touch less guilt!! I will save the cookie recipe for another day however. Tomorrow?

i made these but have a few notes!
i added the flour in four stages, and stopped when i noticed it was getting too dry. i stuck it in the fridge for a little while so it could firm up, and so it wouldn’t spread too much (nutella has oil in it so i didn’t want the cookies to go crazy). i had a bit of a hard time flattening them out with a glass, so i coated the bottom of it with sugar. added a nice sparkle to the top of the cookies.
to store them so that they stayed chewy, i put them in tupperware, with a slice of bread. the cookies absorb the bread’s moisture so they won’t dry out. i think this is supposed to work with an apple slice as well! i brought these to work the next day, and they were ALL GONE within the hour.

I’ve been wanting an excuse to buy that double pack of Nutella from Costco!! Just baked these and they are yummy. I did my usual trick for chewier cookies and used 2 (Costco-sized) eggs instead of one. Easy to scoop the dough, baked for 10 minutes. Chewy for now, we’ll see how they age. Assuming they make it past today!

I have noticed a few of you said it was hard to shape the dough. This may have to do with altitude or the type of flour you use. I used White Lily when I created the recipe and I did not have to work hard to form the balls. So maybe try using a little less flour next time if this happened to you.

Yep, made them yesterday before lunch. Be sure to flatten them, they do not spread on their own, also baked them a tiny bit longer. So good in the end, but was not fond of all the work I had to do in shaping them into balls. It’s a snap to make the dough, but you’ll burn some calories squishing, rolling and then squishing and rolling again, ’cause it fell apart in your hand. Add some squats while your at it and eat ‘em guilt free!!

Okay, we made these. I feel compelled to mention they are on the crunchy/chewy side vs the soft/chewy side. The nutella taste rocks, but it was harder than I thought it would be to shape the dough.
Not sure that I’d make this again without finding an additional form of moisture to help the dough stick better!

I just made these and they are good but…. I am known for not following the recipe. I decided to do half and half Nutella and Peanut Butter. The dough did not look quite smooth enough so I used a teaspoon of Kahlua as my “extract”. They are scrumptious and will certainly make them again!!
