Description

This yummy dish is hearty, yet creamy, and sure to please the man in your life. And the kids too! It’s one of our favorites!!

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Ground Beef
  • 4 ounces, weight Canned Sliced Mushrooms, Drained
  • ½ teaspoons Salt And Pepper
  • 1 can (6oz) French Fried Onions
  • 26 ounces, fluid Cream Of Mushroom Soup (Family Size)
  • 1 cup Sour Cream, Divided
  • 2 cans (16 Oz Each) Refrigerator Biscuits
  • 1 teaspoon Celery Salt
  • 2 whole Eggs

Preparation

Brown the beef and mushrooms over medium heat until meat is well browned. Season as you like. If necessary, drain off the grease. Place the meat and mushrooms in the bottom of a 9×13 or similar sized casserole dish. Top with ½ of the French fried onions.

In a small saucepan, heat soup and ½ cup of the sour cream over medium heat. Once it’s heated through, pour it over the meat mixture. Top with remaining French fried onions.

Flatten and cut the biscuits in half and place them on top of the onion layer like a puzzle, until no filling is showing. (You will have some biscuits left most likely, just bake them for tomorrow’s breakfast or something!) Mix the remaining ½ cup sour cream, celery salt and eggs. Pour over the top of the casserole, trying to hit only the biscuits.

Bake at 375 F for 25-30 minutes.

Serve with steamed green beans for a simple and delicious meal!
